In the 1930 census he says that his father was born in Scotland and his mother in Northern Ireland. His mother, Elizabeth T. EWING, age 61, is living with Henry's family. She gives her year of immigration as 1884.
There's an MA birth record for Henry Joseph EWING b. 24-Apr-1890 in Boston, Suffolk, MA, son of Henry EWING b. Scotland and Elizabeth DEVIN b. Ireland.
In 1910, ward 3 of Boston, Elizabeth T. EWING, age 38, b. Ireland, widowed, is the head of house and has two sons, Henry J., age 19 and Robert F., age 18, both b. MA.
Same location in 1900, same household.Widowed "Lizzie" b. Apr 1868 in Ireland, widowed, mother of 2 children, both still living, immigrated 1884.Henry J. b. Apr 1890, Robert F. b. Sept 1891.Her occupation was Cook.Under the column for number of years married "12" was written, then crossed out. They are living two households away from Rebeca DEVEN b. Dec 1842 in Ireland, widowed, mother of 12 children, 4 still living and her daughter Catherine b. July 1866 in Ireland, single. Both say they immigrated in 1886.
