I really don't know what to tell you- I can share with you from my notes on various sources are the following:
Adam Exline was born about 1733 in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He married Mary Anna Prior-Mertz around 1760 who had a daughter from a previous marriage named Christena(who would later marry Adam's brother Johannes/John). From 1762-1768, Adam and his father were in Uwchland Twp, PA (chester co), showing up many times on land recds etc. From various documents, Adam was in Virginia from 1762 to 1792, when he returned to PA, purchasing land there, and seemingly moving there permanently after 1793. His wife Mary died 3/31/1808, he died 4/18/1818, both in Friends Cove, PA.
The children I have listed for them are:
sons:
Phillip Henry 12/11/1762
Catharine abt 1764
Bernard 5/5/1765
John 1767
Sophia 1770
Elizabeth 1772
Mary 1774
Solomon 3/15/1777
What follows is a direct quote from the Exline Genealogy book regarding Sophia:
"Branch 5:
Aae: Sophia Exline, b. abt 1770, Loudon Co. VA. Md. John May. John May d. 1826, Bedford, Bedford Co. PA. Sophia Exline came with her parents to Friends Cove, Bedford Co, PA in 1792. The will of John May is filed in Book A page 206, in Colerain Twp., Bedford Co. PA and is dated 8, April, 1826. He wills to his wife, Sophia, a bed, bedding, desk, chest, kitchen dresser and other furniture, copper kettles, tin plate, stove, six windsor chairs, spinning wheel, and a choice of his houses and spring house. To his son Leonard, his plantation, on which he lived. To his son, John "the plantation on which I live, except what I bequeath to my wife". Also mentions a daughter Catharine.
Aaea: Leonard May
Aaeb: John May
Aaec: Catharine May"
There's not even a mention of a daughter named Christina in the will dated 1826.
