I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone, but recently I was in Sampson, NC Graveyard hopping, looking for ancestors, when I stumbled on an Ezzell family graveyard.
It is way back in the woods on a dirt path used only by hunters and kids on 4 wheelers. There are several very old graves there.I'll list the marked, legible ones, however there are several that are marked but can't be read. One in particulair died in 185? (something). It's very worn, but it might could be diciphered with the crayon and paper trick.I just didn't have one.
