Does anyone have a Virginia Faber listed in their family tree, born in 1840, POSSIBLY in Indiana, Iowa, Missouri . . . or even Virginia? (Hence, her name?)
All we have is a birthdate for her: June 23, 1940. She was my gg-grandmother, and was married to JAMES MONROE FUGATE. James M. was born in 1832 in Decatur Co., Indiana, and his father, John Hammon Fugate was born in Virginia in 1805. The family moved around a lot.
We know that James Monroe Fugate lived in Linn County and Randolph county Missouri, Barton County KS, Ottumwa, IA, and Sacramento County CA. He met and married Virginia Faber in one of those places (probably the midwest) before they made their home in California.Their children were:1. Carline J. "Carrie" Fugate, b. 1860; 2.-5. (all dying in infancy): John, Susan, William and James; 6. JESSE B. FUGATE, my g-grandfather, b. 1873 in Moberly, MO; and 7. Joseph H. Fugate b. 1876.
James and Virginia both died in Mariposa, CA, in 1898, six weeks apart from each other.
The only other tidbit of information I have about Virginia Faber-Fugate is that she was extremely short, at only about 4'9" or 4'10".We have a photo of her standing next to her very tall Fugate husband (who is sitting) and he is still taller than her!
We have no information about Virginia Faber-Fugate's ancestry, and are very curious about her.If anyone has her name on their family tree, please let me know! Thanks!
