I've been extensively researching the Fackler family which immigrated from Germany to Melbourne (Australia) in the early 20th century. Franz Sales Fackler (aka Frank Fackler) immigrated from Germany to London around 1908 and remained in London for 4 years before immigrating aboard the "North German Lloyd S.S. Roon" to Melbourne, arriving on the 28 June 1912. There he married Lillian Christina Fritsch and had 6 children. A year later, his brothers Joseph Karl Fackler and A. August Fackler also immigrated to Melbourne aboard the "Zieten", including Joseph's wife Wilhelmina Catherina (nee Wall) and their 4 children. Franz's naturalization certificate lists his birthplace as Glottertal, Freiburg, Baden Germany. His parents are named as Karl Fackler and Barbara Birkle (also referred to as Barbara Borkle). It does not appear his parents immigrated.
I'd love to know some information about the Zieten if possible or find out more about the ancestors of Karl Fackler or Barbara Birkle. Also if anyone has any ties to this family, I'd love to hear from you :) Any information would be greatly appreciated.
