Dear Ann,
I got back a few days ago, but I am sorry to say that I didn't get to Flat Creek. My mother needs so much help when I am there that I hate to take a day and do my thing!
I will go again in May or before and will let her know ahead of time that I need to have some free time! Thanks for the history of the church. Yes, Rev. John S. Croxton is
related. John Spencer Croxton was the son of John C. Croxton, who was the son of John Croxton and Martha Vanlandingham Croxton. John and Martha were my 4th great grandparents. By the way, you wouldn't be the sister of Melvin Faile? I know he had a brother living real close to the cemetery. Could you ask your brother about a grave there? It is the family plot with sort of a cement border around it. There are no names except FAILE is spelled out in the cement with little rocks. I am wondering if it could be Thomas and Sarah Weaver Faile's family. I believe that the cemetery was started the year that Thomas died and I don't see a grave there for him.
Thanks,
Rita (note new email)
