Your message prompted me to recheck to see if I'd found anything more out about James that might enable us to link our respective families. In doing so, I looked up the 1891 and 1901 census in England for your James. Am I right in that James married his 1st wife's sister? If I've identified Mary SADLER/SADLAR correctly in 1881, she was the cook in the household of John Robson SCOTT in Newton, Bedrule, ROX, along with a shepherd Adam RICHARDSON, my 1st cousin 4 times removed. Unfortunately this doesn't add much weight to the circumstantial evidence of a link as the RICHARDSONs and FAIRBAIRN sides of my tree don't connect up, but I thought I'd mention it.
