Lettice Fairfax makes an appearance on page 176 of Volume 1 of Compton Mackenzie's 10-volume autobiography, My Life and Times. She was a neighbor of his when he lived as a child on Avonmore Road in London back in the 1880s. Over 70 years after the fact he wrote, "I cannot recall any of the Robins family except Laurie's sister Lily, who had long golden hair. I have a vision in the mind's eye of her walking up Avonmore Road and thinking how beautiful she was. Lily Robins did go on the stage finally, and under the name of Lettice Fairfax was very successful."
