According to the information I have (which came from descendants of Isaac Falconer), Isaac Falconer married Nancy Wilkins, daughter of Samuel and Agnes (Smedley) Wilkins, born 24 July 1789, died 17 November 1854 (in Butler County, Ohio).Isaac's brother Abraham Falconer (who died April 1809 in Washington Co., PA) married Elizabeth Smedley, daughter of George Frederick and ---- (Hurst) Smedley, born 1778 in Maryland, died 4 May 1860, in her 83rd year, in West Bethlehem Twp., Washington Co., PA.On 19 Mar. 1812, Elizabeth married Hugh Hetherington.
I figure that Elizabeth (Smedley) (Falconer) Hetherington was the source of the following information, as it seems to have been sent by her daughter Elizabeth (Falconer) Freeman to Cyrus Falconer (son of Isaac) in the 1850s:
(info on the Falconers is omitted here):Ann [daughter of Samuel Falconer and Elizabeth Newkirk] married Geo. Smedley and they live on The Ohio River. ... Abram married to Elizabeth Smedley in Washington County, where his widow who furnishes these facts still lives.... Nancy Wilkins maternal Grandfather John Smedly came from Baden in Germany as also his wife. He was born in 1732, the same year as Washington, imigrated to Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1750. They had seven children. The old man died in Flemingsburg, Ky., Mason County. Sussannah married a Mr. Fitch and removed to Pike County, Ohio. Elizabeth who married Abram Falconer is now living. Agnes Smedly married to Samuel Wilkins in 1787. Samuel Wilkins father was named John, came from near London, came to America in easy circumstances.
This is copied verbatim from my book, "Falconer of Halkerton" (Bowie, MD:Heritage Books, 1997), pp. 619-620, now out of print. I'm sure it would be useful to Smedley descendants. A lot of information in the LDS Ancestral File, etc., is bogus, unfortunately, as submitters miscopy things.
