I am looking for information about my McDonald, Robertson and Falconer ancestors who lived in Moray, Scotland.
James McDonald was born 9 Jul 1832, chr 31 Jul 1832, Inverness and died 5 Jun 1920, buried Rothes cemetery. His parents were George McDonald (farmer/floater and crofter) and Margaret Robertson. George McDonald and Margaret Robertson were married on 3 Aug 1824 in Knockando, Moray. In addition to James, they had (at least) two other children: Margaret McDonald (born 10 Mar 1826; chr 23 Mar 1826) and Jane McDonald (born 29 Dec 1840; chr 15 Mar 1841). It seems that Margaret also went by the name McRobert and they may have had additional children Grace (chr 25 Feb 1829), William (chr 17 Jun 1830) and Elspet (chr 9 Apr 1834 ). All these children were christened at Cromdale and Inverallan and Advie, Inverness.
James McDonald married Catherine Robertson (born 18 Jun 1833; chr 20 Jun 1833, Dyke, Moray; died 4 Mar 1902) on 10 Jul 1861 in Garmouth, Moray. Catherine was the daughter of Alexander Robertson and Majora/Marjory Ann/May Falconer. Alexander Robertson and May Falconer were married on 26 May 1822, in Dyke, Moray. In addition to Catherine, they had the following children: Alexander Robertson (chr 13 Jul 1823); James Robertson (chr 12 Feb 1825); Donald Robertson (born c1828; died 30 Nov 1908, Drouin, Victoria, Australia; bur 1 Dec 1908, Drouin Cemetry ); John Robertson (chr 17 May 1829); and Alexander Robertson (chr 3 Sep 1831). All of these christenings were in Dyke, Moray.
May Falconer was the daughter of John Falconer and Isobel Thomson, who were married on 3 Feb 1797 in Dyke, Moray. They are not the John Falconer and Bell Thomson who were married on 28 Dec 1797 in Duffus, Moray. In addition to May, they also appear to have had the following children: James Falconer (chr 29 Jul 1800), Agnes Falconer (chr 14 Dec 1802), twins John Falconer and Alexander Falconer (chr 4 Apr 1805), Isobel Falconer (chr 19 Jun 1807), Elspet Falconer (chr 3 Aug 1810), Janet Falconer (chr 16 Oct 1812), William Falconer (chr 14 Apr 1814) and Hugh Falconer (chr 14 Jul 1818). All of those christenings were in Dyke, Moray.
Any further information about any of the people mentioned in this message, or their families, would be greatly appreciated.
