Dear Rich: I am a great-grandson of Thomas and Jane. This is a short summary of the information I have: Thomas was born in Caputh, Perthshire in Scotland on May 29, 1823, to Duncan Falconer and Ann McGlashan. He and his family emigrated to Canada some time around the early 1840's. They first settled in Toronto, where his father was a gunsmith, and where Thomas and Jane married. Thomas and Jane had 14 children. They farmed in Perth County, Ontario, along with his parents, and at least two brothers. In the late 1860's or early 1870's they moved to Bruce County, where Jane died in 1875. A few years later, Thomas and some of his younger children (including Jacob Alexander) moved to Saugatuck, Michigan, where his brother Daniel and his widowed mother lived. Most of his older children stayed in Ontario, or moved to Manitoba. In Michigan, Thomas married Elizabeth Miller in 1880.
I am quite willing to share more information and/or family tree data with you, and will be interested in whatever information you have about Thomas, Jane or other Falconers. Sincerely David Falconer Ottawa, Canada
