I think you can eliminate him as a possible ancestor.
There is a typescript copy of an old family record listing the children of Colin at the library of the Society of Genealogists and Colin's testament survives.This shows the following sons who were living at the time of his testament:
William of Kincorth, b. 1652 d. after 1714 Hugh, commissary clerk of Inverness, b. Oct. 1657, d. 23 Oct. 1709 Alexander of Blackhills, b. 23 Oct. 1659, d. 1749
The male lines are traced downwards in my book (Falconer of Halkerton), but they all died out, as far as I could find.Hugh had a son, Colin, born in 1689, who disappears after 1715, possibly ending up in Jamaica.That's the only one unaccounted for.
