Clay, thank you.I was b. Elizabeth Levanna Wallin (BettyLee) in Johnson City, TN.My grandfather was Elisha Curtis Wallin, my g-gf was James Henry Wallin who md. LouEllen Fallen.James Henry was the son of Elisha Vardeman Wallin who md. Mgt Jane Graham in Lee Co., VA.E.V. was son of John Vardeman Wallin, son of the LH. While I know quite a bit about the Wallins, the FAllens have been a mystery.I had a cousin who pronounced it as"something has fallen."I had thought it was like "falon."I think he was probably right.I happen to have md. into the western part of KY.The only thing I have found is that there was a Samuel Fallen who was part-native American..or maybe all...in Tazewell Co., VA/TN?I don't have that at hand. I found it on one of the Indian census roles. I know that Rosilla was in Tazewell Co. at some point from a pix of her in CAroloyn Wallin's book, ELISHA THE LONG HUNTER. Maybe we have some connection? The daughter of James Henry Wallin and LouEllen Fallen was at one time the "most beautiful woman in Tennessee," I was told.I have a pix of their 50th anniversary, and Nettie was very beautiful, and she could easily have been part-Indian.Very prominent cheekbones and black hair. My grandfather and father both had high cheekbones and Daddy and his sisters had black hair. They were fair-skinned, however, which may have come from the Scots-Irish Wallace side of their family.I have also wondered if Rosilla Wilson was Rose Ellen, and the first daughter, my ggm, was LouEllen. Thanks for responding.Bettylee who knows very little about the Fallens and Wilsons and Grahams!
