I have spoken privately with Barbra concerning her reply. For those who are tracing the Fallin family far more extensively than I will, I will try to clarify my past comments and discuss her concerns.
Currently, I do not know if Elizabeth's maiden name is THARP or SHARP.My source was Katherine Lindsey Knorr's Charlotte County marriages 1816 to 1850.This resource is located at the Charlotte County Courthouse. The THARP source is probably from Joanne Lovelace Nance book Charlotte County Marriage and Minister Returns for the same time period.A look at the 1840 and 1850 Charlotte County Census may resolve the matter quickly.
James E. Fallin is a son of Stimpson Fallin and Nancy Fears. The source for this relationship is documented in Charlotte County Court Order Book 29 page 148.For those who like this kind of documentation, my transcription of that page follows:
March 3, 1835 "On the motion of Nancy Fallin she is appointed guardian of James E. Fallin, Lafayette H. Fallin, Ann Eliza Fallin, and William Putnam Fallin orphans of Stimpson Fallin dec'd on giving bond and securitywhere upon she with James Fears and William Smith her securities entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of five hundred dollars conditioned as the law requires."
James E. was 27 years old according the 1850 Charlotte County Census.Wife Elizabeth is 22.Children listed are Emily and Charles S.
I hope this response has been informative. If you have any questions, please email me.
