My name is Lance Fallin, I have moved around a bit and haven't done any genealogy work in quite some time.
So ...i will start with this.
My Great Grandfather was ...
George Minor Fallin (Sr.) born in Simmon's Switch, Arkansas (near Weldon and Newport in Jackson County Arkansas) White River Bottoms.
GM Fallin Sr.'s Father was ...
Edward Townes Fallin born in 1842,3near Columbia Tennessee by the Duck River. Conscripted in the Confederate Army in 1862 in Newport Arkansas in the 45th Arkansas Confederate Cavalry under the "Swamp Fox" of the confederacy (forgot his name, just remember his nick name)
Ed T. Fallin was sometimes referred to as "Old Pony" Fallin after the war was over.
Ed's Father was ...
Littleberry Falling who was married to Ann E. Townes they were married in Virginia, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. (married or born 1806-ish? I forgot)
(I'm doing this from memory right now)
Littleberry's Dad was ...
Redmond Fallin (Pittsylvania County, Virginia)
Redmond's dad was Edmond Falling(spellings varied)
Edmond Falling's dad was Redmond Fallon
Redmond had a dad named Redmond Fallin
yep ... confusing huh?
anyway ,these go back to a Maryland eventually
the first Redmond went to settle on the Dan River in Virginia (modern day Danville area) by 1745
he was referred to as a "Long Hunter"(was that the old old old way to say, a married mountain man?)
I think this Redmond was married to Rachel Millis , but I'm not sure.I think they came from the Eastern Shore of Maryland near Bishop's Head Maryland in Dorcester county.
There's a "Fallin's Cove in Dorchester County Maryland. and one of the Earliest Fallin's on Record was "Barnaby Fallin" (having been borne in Ireland and died in 1686 in annemessex, was a servant of Cornelius Ward)
But ....i can't "legally" tie this Barnaby Fallin to my "Redmond or Redman" Fallin, and there are many references to early Fallin families already on coastal Virginia.
I know we're probably all related, but i can only prove from me back to 1745,before that time, I'm stumped
We were in Pittsylvania County Virginia for a longggggg time we zipped through Tennessee, then we were in Arkansas for almost 100 years, then we moved to Missouri right before WW2
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it:)
Lance T. Fallin (of the Arkansas-Missouri Fallin family) (I live in New Mexico now)
