A leaf in the tree
I've only been able to find bits and pieces about my branch in the Farone family tree.
Here's a very brief history, in case any remote relatives are watching:
My 52-yr old father Charles has a sister Barbara and two step-brothers, John and Robert. They grew up in and near Deer Park, NY.
My grandfather was known to many as 'Papa' and was also named Charles. He was first married to a woman named Anne, lateranother woman named Anne, and a third woman named Kay.I believe he had as many as 12 siblings who moved from NY to upstate NY, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and New Jersey.Unfortunately, I don't know any of the siblings nor any of their names.
My great-grandfather was apparently the one who migrated to the USA via Ellis Island and may have married a woman from Russia who he met on the ship sailing to the US.Unfortunately, I don't have his or her name.It is my understanding that prior to Ellis Island, the family name I come from was Farrona or Farraone. Before then, I think my great-grandfather lived in or near Palermo.
As a side note, I happened to see a television commercial for GMC Trucks highlighting an automotive design engineer named Mark Farone.Although it's not me, I was surprised to see someone else with my surname!
Mark
