I believe your Peter Cormier goes back to the Louis Cormier and Thecla Meaux line. Their son, Onezime, married Marguerite Arthemise Melancon. They had a son named Jean Baptiste Adam Cormier born September 16, 1852. Onezime was in the Toomey, LA area at the right time for his son John to be the father of Peter Cormier. It appears that the John L. Cormier (Son of Alexandre Cormier, Sr.) md. to Mary ? was the father of another set of closely related Cormier's. Onezime and Alexandre Cormier, Sr. were brothers. I just wish that I could find a census record for John Cormier born 1852 in 1880 and 1900. I did note in the 1900 Calcasieu Parish, LA census record that my Savenia Sonnier family was not listed. Savenia would have been in the same area of Calcasieu as John Cormier. Placide Antoine Cormier, another son of Onezime Cormier and Marguerite Arthemise Melancon, married Savannah Jackson. Savannah was the sister of my great grandfather, Charles W. Jackson of Toomey, LA.
