Earline, After doing some more research, I changed my mind about John Cormier, husband of Mary Renna Farque, being the son of Onesime Cormier and Marguerite Arthemise Melancon. In the 1870 Calcasieu Parish census record, John Cormier is still living with his parents Onesime and Marguerite Cormier. As you can see from the 1870 census, Mary Renna Farque is not living with her parents. It does not add up for John, son of Onesime, to be her husband. I will keep looking and see if I can not help solve the mystery of John Cormier husband of Mary Renna Farque. I do believe he is close kin to the other Cormier's in the Toomey/Vinton, LA area.
