Earline, This land title company helped my cousin when he was researching land deeds in Toomey/Vinton, LA. This company charges alot per hour but they have good information. I think they may have some information on your John Cormier and his sons if they owned land in Louisiana or bought land from someone else. My cousin found land deed maps showing who had land next to whom. That helps alot when trying to figure out family relationships that do not appear in other records. Several of the children/grandchildren of Don Louis Cormier, Jr. (son of Louis Cormier, Sr. and Marie Magdeleine LeDoux his second wife) are buried in Big Woods cemetery in Edgerly, LA. All the Cormier's in Toomey/Vinton, Calcasieu Parish, LA that I can place all go back to the line of Louis Cormier and Thecla Meaux and the second wife of Louis Cormier, Marie Magdeleine LeDoux. Peter Cormier was listed on the same 1930 Calcasieu Parish, LA census page as Jackson Cormier, the son of Onezime Cormier and Marguerite Arthemise Melancon. Ogese Cormier is near by but he is August Cormier. That is the correct spelling of his name.
