A page I have from an abstract of wills includes the following:
"p. 155 - Moore Fauntleroy of Crondall, will; 14 Jan 1793, 3 Jun 1793 - natural dau. Maria Fauntleroy (dau. of Catharine Short) all landed est. in the Co. of Rich. known as Crondall Estate; natural daus. Fanny and Florinde if natural dau. Maria Fauntleroy should die before she arrives to the age of 21 or marries, landed estate to fall to John Mortimer, he taking the name of Fauntleroy, but, if he refuses, then to go to relative William Fauntleroy of Mile End Green, England; aunt(?) Mary Giberne; godson Moore Fauntleroy Brockenbrough; faithful servant Samuel Cole; servants Davy and D(?) to be free; ex. and guardians of dau. Maria; friends Thomas and John Brockenbrough; wits: (Mace) Cleme(?), John (Smaw), Yovell Williams."
I noticed on the preceding page - "Moore Fauntleroy, f. inv. at Quintanoak; 2 Jan 1792."
I am not researching these people and have no further information. The question marks are due to the poor copy I have.
