I have a paper copy of my family tree. It starts with James Farotte born in 1650 near Paris, a physician in Paris, France. He was a Huguenot who fled to Holland, Scotland and finally Piscataway, NJ. His children are Henry, James and David. Henry's last name is listed as Faurot. He married Charity Dove in 1702. Henry was born in Piscataway in 1680 and is listed as a weaver of yard goods. His grandchildren (children of David 12-24-1708 - 3-25-1760) are listed as: Henry (6-14-1730 married Eleanor Enyard 1755), James (1735-1804 married Catherine Soper 1755) and David(1745-1793 married Mary Garrison 1773).There are other children listed including Benjamin( born 3-22-1773. Henry (1730) and his son, John, were captured by the British during the Revolutionary War. They were to be put to death. George Washington arranged a prisoner exchange which put the family into Washington's debt. Some of the Faurot boys became teamsters for the Army and the home became an officer's retreat. Only Benjamin's chidren are listed after this. Some of his children's birth dates show they could have been in the War of 1812 (John was born 6-16-1797 and David was born in 10-9-1799 - both born at West Point, NY). It is possible Benjamin's nephew's were also in the War of 1812. One of David's daughter's married Dr. Corbin I. Neff (11-14-1823). At this point the family tree concentrates on the Neff family.
