Hello Peter, Thank you for your response.Robert Aveson's interesting story about coming to America is found on www.sedgwickresearch.com.A few weeks after I submitted my request to GenForum, I was put in contact through sedwickresearch with a cousin. He was the descendant of Robert Aveson and owned his 300 page scrapbook! From the news clippings therein I was able to find some of the locations of the early Fawcetts who came to America pre 1866, which led me to a few others.
Jane Fawcett born 1821 Dent, married Adam May born 1820 England. They are located on the 1880 census in Prescott,Hampshire,USA
Mary Fawcett born 1823 Dent, married John Illingworth born 1816 England. They are located on the1880 census of New Salem,Franklin,Massachusetts,USA. Children Rosanna 1862 born Connecticut and Miles A. born 1863 Windsor,Hartford,Connecticut appear to be theirs. A Mary A. Field gdau born Massachusetts also on the census.
Miles Fawcett born 1830 Dent, married a Mary Ann Gilbert born abt 1824 died 1875 Lisbon,Connecticut,USA.They were parents of Charles Henry Fawcett born 1856 Prescott,Hampshire,Massachusetts,USA who died 1874. Miles moved to California. He is found on the 1880 census of Los Angeles visiting witha neice named J.E Lassallate and her son Julian A. Lassallate.Miles died a gruesome death in Carlin, Nevada 1888 which was highly publicized.
Francis William Fawcett born 1835 Bradford,Yorkshire,England married a Melintha D. (Scott?) and Nancy Marie Andrews born 1845 Cormington,Massachusetts,USA their children on the 1870 census are Ida Maria abt 1862 and Deborah abt 1869.
You are correct, the last to emigrate wasAnn Fawcett born 1825 Dent,Yorkshire,England settled in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the mother of Robert Aveson.Thank you for your help and suggestions.
