You inquired about two mysterious entries in the Jack and Jenny Fazenbaker household in the 1870 census.I can add only a little to this puzzle.
The 1880 census for Garrett County, Maryland, lists one William Fazenbaker in the household of Jack and Jenny Fazenbaker. He is listed as a grandson.I suspect that this is one of the mystery persons listed in the same household in the 1870 census.I have been unable to identify William's parents.Nor do I have any further information about William Fazenbaker.
My grandmother, Bessie Marie (Fazenbaker) Wilt (born in 1906) is a grandchild of Jack and Jenny Fazenbaker, and, until her memory started to fail in the last few years, sheknew a great deal about the families of her uncles and aunts. She would also recite the exact age of her grandmother Jenny, which is the same age as appears on Jenny's death certificate.Grandmother knew nothing about the William Fazenbaker in her grandparents' household.
I show the following 9 children for Jack and Jenny as follows: 1 Goldie Ellen "Ellen" Fazenbaker (born about 1847 or 1848); 2 Martha A. Fazenbaker (born about 1850); 3 Charles William "Charlie" Fazenbaker (born about 1852); 4 Marcus "Marks" Fazenbaker (born 5/8/1853); 5 James B. "Jim" Fazenbaker (born about 1856); 6 Jacob "Jake" Fazenbaker (born 12/6/about 1857); 7 Mary Jane Fazenbaker (born about 1861 or 1862); 8 Alban Fazenbaker (born 6/17/1864); and Eliza (born about 1868 or 1869).Does this list agree with yours?
