I am sorry that you have such tender skin sir but I have here in front of me the 1790 census for burke co NC and it does have a fairs ,edmund on it it can be found at ftp://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/cencus/nc/burke/1790/index.txt and if you go down further on the list you will see David Winkler to whom Sarah Fair/Fears/Fare was married to in that state. All the other items you have mentioned I myself have and even in Casey County Edmund is listed as Edmond Fearis and in the 1820 census there is only 2 people 1 man 45 and up and 1 female 45 up. . that I take it is Edmund and Silence. What I was trying to stress is that there may be a lot of ways to spell this man's last name and the numerations of the census have proved it but there was only one Silence and she seems to have been married to the Edmund Fair as he wrote his name in 1816 on a will that named Silence as "my beloved wife Silence" and underlining the name in Casey County Ky. I never said that you were wrong I just said that there were too many Edmond's for one Silence to be married to.
