He was born abt 1760 in Germantown, Pa and died before 1811 in Nicholas County, Kentucky. He married Mary ?? about 1787. She was born abt 1760 and died abt 1831 in Nicholas County, Kentucky. He is first found in the 1790 census of Pennsylvania in Germantown township. He is listed as head of household as free white male over 18. He had 2 white males under the age of 16 (probably John and Matthew) and one white female his wife. One theory is that he was one of the German mercanaries that England hired to defeat the U.S. in the Rev. War. He does not appear on any Federal, State or local tax lists after 1790.The next mention of him is in Nicholas County, Ky. in 1802 on a tax list.He owned 50 acres of land on Beaver Creek. He is listed on the 1803,804, 1805, 1809, 1810 tax lists. 1806-1808 tax lists are missing. On the 1810 census is listed 1 male under age 10, 1 male age 10-16, 2 males age 16-26, 1 male (Frederick) age 45 and up, 1 female under age 10, 1 female age 10-16, 1 female (wife Mary) age 45 and up. He is not listed on the 1811 tax list or any other later years so it is assumed he had died.
