Your other postings give a few more details like Mary's birth 6 Mar 1822 and her marriage in Montgomery Co.
The 1820 census of Montgomery Co, Jefferson Twp, lists John Fess.Five children under 10 are listed in the household: 4 girls and 1 boy.Not a common distribution. This is almost certainly my ancestor, John Fees, who had 4 daughters and one son born between 1812 and 1820.
John's father is listed in the 1820 and 1830 Miami Co censuses.
John Fees did have a daughter Mary, but she was born 14 Jan 1818 and m Robert Mansfield. So your Mary is probably a cousin.
Nine siblings of John have been tentatively identified. One or more probably remained behind in Pennsylvania when John and his father and remaining sibs moved to NC.From NC the family again split, with at least one of John's sibs going to KY and John and his father and a couple more sibs going to Ohio.
Have you visited the Fies/Fees website? http://www.Fies-Fees.org/http://www.Fies-Fees.org/ There are a couple of genealogies posted on this site.
We also participate on a rootsweb email list. FEES-L@rootsweb.com
I have a lot more information on the Fees which I can share if you are willing to share information on your family. We have good information on descendants of the Pennsylvania branch, John's branch, and the Kentucky branch through Jacob. We have not been able to track descendants of two of the Ohio branches, Henry and Peter, and an Indiana branch, David (who may have also been in Ohio).
When and where did Mary die? What were the names and birthdates of her children?Who were Joseph's parents?Where was Joseph born?
You can reply directly to my email address since the pop-up ads genforum now uses plays havoc with my computer.
