I have traced our Fegan family from the U.P. of Michigan to Ontario, Canada.Edward Fegan (b. 1824)and his wife, Nancy Agnes Campbell Fegan (b. 12 Apr 1829), left County Down, (Northern) Ireland about 1850 to settle in Markdale, Ontario as farmers.Their children were Elisha (died in infancy), Elisha Ann, Hohn Needham, Mary Elizabewth, Sarah Hane, Thomas Edward, Helen Agnes, John Albert, and Alfred Merdith. The surname was recorded as Fagan on their crown deed, but was changed to Fegan by the time they sold the farm.
Edward's parents were William Fagan, who died in County Down, Ireland at the age of 106, year unknown. He was married to Elizabeth McKee.Their children were Betty, Molly, Sally, Rosie, James, John, William, Henry, and Edward, all born in County Down, Ireland.
I am searching for more information on William and his wife, Elizabeth, and a more precise location in Northern Ireland.
