My research interest is the Dresslers, but Henry Felkner is closely associated with the Dressler passage in Virginia, and continues in Tennessee in the county next to Washington, where my Dressler line also goes, in the very early 1800s.
Henry Felkner's 28-sep-1772 deed in Shenandoah, at-the-time Frederick Co., VA and my Andrew Dressler grant (7 Oct 1771) apparently join. Henry is described as adjacent to Andrew Dressler in the 1771 land grant, along with Jacob and John Funkhouser. Even closer, in Frederick Co., MD's Monocacy Lutheran Church records, Heinrich & Rosina Voelckner are sponsors to the baptism of a daughter of Andreas & Maria Dressler, born 4 May 1771 and baptized 21 Jun 1772. Whether this was a circuit pastoral baptism while the minister was traveling in Frederick Co., VA, or whether families crossed the Potomac to Maryland for religious events, this certainly thickens the connection.
I'm wondering, do you see other connections, particularly marriages or burial in the same cemeteries, other adjacent land holdings, in Virginia or Tennesse or elsewhere?
