Dear Carolyn, In the Southampton County, Virginia - Personal Property Taxes, Nathaniel Felts is shown for the first time in 1792 living in Nottoway Parish of Southampton County, Va, with the marriage of Nathaniel Felts to Polly Reese in 1792, helps us assume that he had his children right away,he is not shown again until the 1801 tax records and is then shown thru 1812, when he is shown with probably his first born son, Thomas, thru 1812-1816. In 1816 is listed two sons, in 1817, Nathaniel Felts & two sons and Daniel Felts, in 1818 and 1819, Nathaniel Felts and Reese Felts, Thomas is listed by himself, in 1820, It should also be mentioned that Francis Felts is shown in 1816 for the first time also. Thomas Felts appears on the Muster Roll of Capt. Henry Thomas Company of Infantry, 65 Reg't Virginia Militia, and traveling from Crany Island to Jerusalem, Southampton Co. Va. the place of regimental rendezvous, 75 Miles. Date of enlistment June 29 1813 till September 22, 1813. James.It can safely be noted that Lewis Felts married Rebecca T. Joyner, Reese Felts married Mary Jones (20 Sept 1831) and Thomas Felts married Elizabeth Powell the 5th of November, 1821.Lewis Felts and Rebecca had the following children: 1. Emma S.
