Thomas H.M. Fendall was the second husband of Sarah Marshall Dent, my 3rd great aunt.Sarah's father, George Dent (1758-1813) left her "twenty-five cents for reasons she will duly appreciate."Family "history" leads me to believe that there was ill will between the Dent and Fendall families.I would like to know why.Supposedly there is a book called "The Fendall Treachery" that details the conflict between the Fendalls and the Dents.I haven't been able to find it.
I think there were four children, none of whom I have any information about.
Research I did in Augusta, GA on the Summerville Cemetery says that the cemetery was on the "southern side of the lot of the late Dr. Fendall."But he is not buried there.I don't know where he is.George Dent was "buried on his plantation" in Augusta, GA, but I cannot locate that either.
James Truman Dent, my third ggfather, left us sixteen letters to his daughter, my 2nd ggmother. In some of the letters he mentions the "adventures" and education of young Thomas Fendall. This would have been in the 1830's.
Any and all information you can share with me about the Fendalls would be appreciated.
