Would appreciate any assistance on these families.
Randall Fenwick (d. 1571), Gent., of Kirkharle, Northumberland and his two sons Marmaduke (d. 1594) and Roger (d. 1591) mention many cousins in their wills and involve other Fenwicks in the administration of their estates without stating relationships. The one I am especially interested in is John Fenwick, Gent., of Brenkley, who was a witness to the will of Randall.Randall's son Marmaduke makes a bequest in his will [dated 1590] to the children of his desceased cousin, John Fenwick of Brenkley. After digging deeper into the identities of the other people mentioned in these wills, I discovered one common thread.Besides John Fenwick of Brenkley, every individual mentioned as a cousin by Marmaduke is a child or a grandchild of Lionel Fenwick, Gent., of Blagdon.I came establish four children of Lionel Fenwick of Blagdon with ease. They are:
1. William Fenwick, Gent., of Blagdon [Called brother in the 1594 will of Thomas Lorren, Gent., of Wallsend, and one of the executors of the estate of Marmaduke Fenwick, Gent., of Kirkharle]
2. Randall Fenwick, Gent. [Called brother in the 1594 will of Thomas Lorren]
3. Elizabeth Fenwick (d. 1615/6), wife of Robert Lawson (d. 1611/2), Gent., of Wallsend [Two of her children are called cousins in Marmaduke's will, and her husband is called brother in the will of Thomas Lorren]
4. Isabell Fenwick, wife of Thomas Lorren (d. 1594), Gent., of Wallsend [son of Robert Lorren, Esq., of Kirkharle] [She and her husband are legatees in the will of Marmaduke Fenwick of Kirkharle.Thomas owned property in Wallsend, Blagdon, Brenkley, Kirkharle, and Prestwick.]
As stated the father of these four was Lionel Fenwick of Blagdon. He and Randall Fenwick, Gent., of Kirkharle, were supervisors to the 1558 will of Roger Errington of "Wallyke."The children of Randall Fenwick wete legatees in 1549 to Marion Errington, widow, of Little "Whetton."
John Fenwick of Brenkley is connected to these people, and I would really appreciate any assistance with them.
