The English genealogy of the Ferebee family that you posted is a bogus fabrication created about 1900. T.B.Wilson printed a 24 page booklet entited "Family Record of Thomas deFereby and Joseph Wilson of England, continuing through the American line to the year 1915". Where he got the English data is anyone's guess, but I believe it's the product of an unscrupulos researcher who pulled together several real medieval Ferebees and created a bogus pedigree. I have been researching the English origins of this family for decades and it is a much more complicated issue than you could imagine. The family is named after the ferry that operatd between North Ferriby in Yorkshire and South Ferriby in Lincolnshire. The earliest mention of the family is in Yorkshire in the 13th century. The parents of John Ferebee (abt.1640-1715) are NOT proved to my knowledge. He may have been born in Cirencester,Glos., Bishop Cannings, Wilts.,or Barton on Humber, Linc. There were also Ferebee families in London, St.Pauls Cray Kent, and Yorkshire in the mid 1600s. If anyone is doing serious research of the English origins of this family please contact me.
