They have a picture of him and a brief paragraph on pg 682 and 683. He is mentioned also on page 676. He was b. 15 Aug 1819 in Gilmanton, NH and died of Brights disease in Manchester NH on 21 Nov 1884. There is also a Captain William Fernald of Meredith, NH in the 12th who is sometimes called lieutenant. I think whoever submitted the death record for Sgt. Albert Fernald being a lieutenant may have erred. Alberts regiment mustered in on 9 Sep 1862, and from a pension record I found, he was discharged 6 Aug 1863. His regiment fought battles in Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville (and also at Gettysburg during that time then after they were assigned to guard duty over prisoners and he was discharged.)
His daughter Carrie B. of Laconia is mentioned.
Carrie B. Fernald of Laconia, b. abt 1861 dau. of Albert P. Fernald and Mary J. Buswell, first married George Hancock Keniston on 03 Feb 1896 in Nashua, Hillsborough, NH. George was a hotel keeper and died on 23 Dec 1896 at age 53 of a cerebral hemmorage in Laconia. Carrie 2nd married Phillip H. Cote b. abt 1861 in Canada on 16 Mar 1899 in Nashua,Hissborough, NH. I can't find them in 1900 and 1910 but they are in Nashua, NH in 1920 and 1930. I don't know if she ever had any children.
