Hi, I am looking at them on the 1930 Census...I find it interesting that he is listed as Ferrari.Acc. to the census, his immigration was in 1910 (this is usually not accurate). Also, based on ages given, they would have been married c. 1922.You could try looking for their marriage record on the off chance that the actual village of birth is listed. Since I posted this message, I have found some more records on my husband's grandfather. On his marriage record, he is listed as Ferrari. Some other records have him listed as Ferrara. It seems the name was frequently swapped around!I am sure my husband's family was from Torrioni.
I have found a WWII "Old man's draft" registration, 1942, in Black Oak, Indiana for a James Ferrari, b. 1885.Birthplace listed is Sestola, Italy; which is further north in Italy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sestolahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sestola
Did your grandfather live in Indiana later on?It would be helpful to know the exact place of birth. Then you may have the option of renting the civil reg. records on microfilm from a local LDS family history center to do further research.(Something I haven't had time to do yet!)
