Seeking lineage of Samuel Joseph (Sam) Fertitta b. 14 October 1911 d. 9 December 1995 in Leesville, Vernon Parish, Louisiana. He md Lucy Roberta (Berta) Norwood (living) in 1946. She was originally from Marlin, Falls County, Texas. Berta's father and my grandmother were siblings.
Sam Fertitta's parents are unknown to me. His siblings:
1- Angelina (Lena) Fertitta, md to unknown Culotta; and
2- Anthony Fertitta, b. abt 1913, d. 19 Aug 1994 in Leesville, LA; md to Elizabeth Allinder.
I would like to learn more about my Fertitta cousins and wish to correspond with others researching this line. Does anyone know parents/grandparents of Sam, Lena and Anthony? Below is Sam's obituary.

Services today for Leesville civic leader
LEESVILLE- Funeral services for businessman and civic leader Sam J. Fertitta, 84, will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 11 (1995), in Hixson Funeral Home.
The Revs. Roland Sherwood, Gary McGough and M.C. Green will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery (in Leesville).
A Requiem Mass was held Sunday.
Visitation is from 8 a.m. today.
Mr. Fertitta died Saturday, Dec. 9, 1995, in the Leesville hospital.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 528th Engineer Battalion with the 3rd Army in the European Theater of Operations. He achieved the rank of captain and was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters.
He owned and operated Sam Fertitta Construction Co. and Fertitta-Morrow Real Estate for 48 years. A past president of the Leesville Lions Club, he also served as president of the Leesville-Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce, was past chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, past commander and 50-year member of the American Legion Post 145, lifetime member of the VFW, a corporate member of the AUSA, a member of Ducks Unlimited, and a lifetime member of the Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children.
He was a 50-year member of the El Karubah Shrine Temple of Shreveport, a lifetime member of the Leesville Masonic Lodge 240, Rhodes Commandry 17, and a member of the Leonidas Polk Memorial Episcopal Church.
Survivors are his wife, Roberta Norwood Fertitta of Leesville; one son, Sam J. Fertitta of Leesville; three daughters, Sydna Fertitta Hansen of Metairie, Beverly Fertitta Byrd and Ann Fertitta Morrow, both of Leesville; one sister, Lena Fertitta Culotta of Beaumont, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Polk Memorial Episcopal Church, 805 Abe Allen Memorial Drive, Leesville, La.; or to Living Word Church, Section Line Road, Leesville, La., the family said.
