Mary Margaret Fesler was born in Circleville, Ohio, April 24, 1841, and departed this life at her home in Garden Grove, Iowa, June 23, 1908, aged 67 years, 1 month nd 29 days. She was married to C.K. Daily at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 9, 1860. Three children were born to them, Annie Mary, wife of L.A. Richards of Garden Grove; Harriet Elizabeth, wife of J.O. Garner, of Leon and Charles Kelso. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three children, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, seven sisters and two brothers, two sisters having preceded her to the great beyond.
The funeral was held at the Methodist Church of which she had long been a faithful and consistent member. The services were conducted by Reverend Kob, assisted by Reverend Goodsell. Her Bible was her companion of her best and holiest hours; source of her unspeakable joy and consolation. From it she derived the principles of a truly Christian life and character. It was the light to her feet and the lamp to her path. It was constantly by her side and as her steps weakened in her decline more and more precious to her became the well worn pages. She had been a great sufferer for two years but bore her afflicition with great patience, always putting her trust in Him who is able to save. She became suddenly worse a little over a week before the summons came and all was done that could be done by tender hands to alleviate her suffering, but God knows best and he called her to her rest. Her life work is ended. She is gone but her memory liveth and will ever be sacred and become a perpetual inspiration, even when the bright flowers bloom above her grave.
