Toby:
The book is Fessler/Fesler Ancestries I-II (vol.1 1978 & vol.II 1994. Authors: Wm. T. Fessler & Mary E. Peters.
Wm. was 76 in 2000; his address 416 E. Kingshighway; Haddonfield, N.J.08033.The book costs about 39.95, and does offer good information about the origins of this family in USA and Europe. If you read over some old messages on this board, you may find more info about ordering it, if you want to have a permanent copy.
on P. 52:Jacob (Fesler) 1803-1882
Married Margaret Culp (1806-1869) and moved to Madison Co., IN about 1843.Married Rebecca Hannah (b1812, d ___) in 1870.Jacob and Margaret buried in the Pee Wee Cemetery...
Children: George (1827-1892)
Elizabeth (1828-1896)
Sarah (1830-1909)
Mary (1831-1897)
Rebecca (1832-1889)
David (1836- --)
John H. (1837- --)
George married Mary Davis(1833-1920) had: James Monroe.
So it looks like Jacob your ancestor, and is the father of George.
I will paraphrase from p,49-50:The father of Jacob is John George Fessler, the 6th child of Albrecht Fessler; b near Rerhersburg, Berks Co., PA on Sept. 22, 1775 and baptized Nov.26 according to the records of the Evangelical Lutheran church in Rerhersburg. He married Elizabeth Siler, on March 14, 1797 in the Christ Lutheran Church in Stouochburg.About 11 children were born, Jacob being #4.The first 6 were born in Berks Co., PA.John George's wife died May 16, 1923 and is buried in St. Luke's church cemetery, Schaefferstown, Lebanon Co., PA
