Fex is not a 'dit' name. The first ancestor to come to Canada was Ignace Filsh from Mannheim, Germany. If you type the name Filsch in the PRDH, they will come back with the name FILTS, which is the standard name they have adopted.Over the years, the spelling has varied from Filsch to Filts, Filtz, Felsque, Felx , Fex and many others.
By the way, there is a girl named Michelle Chase who I believe is from Alberta. She corresponded with my cousin, Darlene Tucceri, on a message board a while back.Is she related to you?I met Darlene on the same message board and we have since gotten together a couple of times (we both live in Ottawa) to share information. We are second cousins. We have a great deal of information (over 2,000 names) going back to 1760 when Ignace Filsch married in Montreal.
Ignace Filsch had 8 children that I know of. One of them was Pierre who married Marie Ranger. They in turn had 7 children - one of whom was Jean Baptiste Paul married to Adelina Rozon.I may have made a mistake last time - I think I told you that Pierre who married Elisabeth Chevrier was Jean Baptiste Paul's father and if I did, that's incorrect. This Pierre was his brother.
Let me know if there is anything specific you would like to know.
