Awesome! Do you realize if the connection's correct, we're third cousins a few times removed? So cool, anyway, all I have regarding the children is the information obtained through the 1870 MO Census. That information here follows.
Fick, John Wolfgang 48 White Male, Farmer, born in Bavaria Anna42 White Female, keeps house, born in Bavaria Barbara21 White Female, at home, born in MO Michael19 White Male, farm laborer, born in MO Adam17 White Male,at home, born in MO Margareth15 White Female, at home, born in MO *Lorenz12 White Male,at home, born in MO Catherine9 White Female, at home, born in MO Louis6 White Male,at home, born in MO
*I've talked to descendents of Lorenz, and his grandchildren remember his name as Lorence, or Lawrence. In early census's, names were occasionally misspelled, or incorect."Lawrence" could easily be pronounced as "Lorence", and if the individual had a country Midwest slur, "Lorence" could have been interpreted as "Lorenz". However all the dates, and lineage match, so this circumstance can be supported by geneological analysis.Hope the information helps.
Do you have any information on Anna or John Wolfgang's parents?Anything else on the family would be a great help.Do you know of any older relations named Philip Fick? Also, there are materials compiled on Chesterfield, MO where they settled that mention the Fick family. If you're interested, let me know.Thanks.
