I found a book available through LDS Church on the Fickus family. It is on microfiche and can be ordered into a Mormon church for viewing. Do a search at the familysearch.org library. The local church charged sixty cents as there are 4 cards at fifteen cents each.Fiche remains in the church until someone else requests it, unlike the film that must be sent back in 3 weeks. There also is microfilm on the Fickus family. The first 2-3 chapters of the book are helpful in providing Eve's anccestry, but it does not provide much on Eve and Valentine. If you go to a church, choose one that has a printer so you won't have to transcribe so much. The chapters in the books merely confirm Eve married Valentine and tell about their move to Warrick County IN where Eve evidently died. There's a will for Valentine in 1844 in Breckinridge Co that lists a wife named Elizabeth. There's a marriage record for Elizabeth Merritt and Valentine in Warrick Co.Also there's a marriage record for William Hay and another Merritt, possibly Elizabeth's relative.According to the will, William is a son of Valentine that predeceased him. I think the Valentine in Breckinridge County is the same Valentine who returned after a stint in IN, probably because he had land in KY. I'm desperately trying to find out a list of the younger Valentine's children.I suspect my great-grandpa Valentine from Breckinridge Co is the son of Eve and Valentine or possibly of Valentine and Elizabeth. The other possibility is he is the son of Walter, Valentine's brother.Have you read the Valentine and Catherine Hoh family book also available through LDS church? It has a wonderful chart in the back detailing 5 different Valentine Hay lines.
