John Figg & wife immigrated 1784 to Nova Scotia-- reference: Nova Scotia Immigrants to 1867; Smith & Smith, Baltimore Gen. Pub. Co, 1996; p 343. (Interesting to note: Daniel Essex 1784 to Nova Scotis is also listed in the same source-see Essex surname list as I will post the data there).
Question:Is it possible that this is the John Figg SR that we are all looking for??I hate to suppose because someone will take it for fact until it is proven as such.
It would not be beyond the possiblility that they went into Nova Scotia & ended up in Va--even tho there were Figgs in Isle of Wright Co, Va ca 1669 (1992 IGI Index gives Figg births of that time frame/place).I do not have access to the records of Va to prove/disprove this data.
Either way--the spelling of the name varies & not always FIGG as the available data for a FIGG surname search just isn't there!!!Have seen Figg, Figgs, Fleig, Fogg, Fagg, Fig, Feg.
For sure--they were somewhere IF we can find them!!!
