Like yourself, my family has also been told we are descendents of James Figg, pugilist.James Figg had at least one son born the day after his funeral in Dec 1734.I have not been able to find the baptism of this child or of any siblings.I have been able to trace my family back to 1800 in London, with the name James still prominent in the family.I have also been able to connect my family with another family who also claims descendency from James Figg, pugilist.Did you know that a William Figg did arrive in the Colonies in the mid 1700's.But he was from Cheshire, not London. And there is a Figg family that has long been established in Cheshire.I continue to search for my ancestors with the hope that I continue to connect with other families who claim James Figg as an ancestor. We may never know if the church records were destroyed in WWII.
