Lavius Fillmore, Vermont
The Old First Church (First Congregational Church) of Bennington was designed by Lavius Fillmore (a cousin of the U.S.'s 13th President) and built in 1805. This church is the second meetinghouse (the first being a simple log structure) of Vermont's oldest Protestant religious organization, which started in 1762. The columns are hand-planed from the whole trunks of pine trees and extend from the basement footers to the rafters. The exterior corner decorations are wood blocks, meant to resemble the stone of European churches.
Not a direct line in my tree, but I found this online when looking up another Fillmore name.
