Filmer and Philmore are one and the same person. There were no two brothers...The following perhaps will be of help to you.William Green who m. Amey or Amy Clay had the following children: Thomas, untraced; William married cousin Obedience Green but had no issue; Filmer, m. Ann ____ and moved to Hawkins Co., Tn. (parents of Filmer, Lewis, and William at least...); Amey m. Edward Moseley; John untraced; and Martha?, m. William Williamson. When William Green died, Amy his "relict" was granted administration August 22, 1747 [Will Book 1, p. 43].Amey then m again, this time to Benjamin Williamson, ca. June 9, 1748, [ditto, p. 58-59] andrelative Henry Clay wrote a will naming her as Amey Williamson in 1749. [Ditto, p. 200 has Benj. Williamson's inventory in 1761].I think if you pursue the records in Amelia Co., with these leads, you might find some clues or proof. This information was written on a piece of paper with no source cited that someone gave me years ago about Filmer and Ann going to Hawkins Co., Tn.but the rest of the information is in published sources and from a correspondent more than twenty years ago who cited the above will books, etc.Hope this helps.
