frank m. finan 1894 sligo
to all users of this forum, i am trying to locate information two finan men who maybe ancestors of mine. the first man is a patrick finan who served in the connacht rangers and service number was 3050. he served in world war 1 and i think he survived.
the other man is a frank m. finan who was born in dromore west co. sligo in 1894. his mother's name was margaret finan and i do not know his father's name. frank served in world war 1 in three british regiments. the first one was the irish guards and his service number was 10857. the next regiment he was in was the royal flying corps and his service number was 51231. the third regiment was the 10th battalion of the sherwood foresters(notts and derby).he was wounded with his regiment and brought to the military hospital at le treport near dieppe.this were he died of his wounds on the 24th august 1918. he is buried at mont huon military cemetery at le treport. i am looking for as much information on his military life and family life.the reason i am looking for information is that i have ancestors from dromore west.
