Now we need to know something about either of these two people, but specifically any information on Lourena. However, even info on John, as far as his age or place of birth might help us find them in 1870 in the census.
One thought had crossed my mind that John may have died before 1870 and Lorena remarried before that census, but just knowing any info on John at all might help.
We know of a Lorena Parks from Huron Co, Ohio (1860 census as Lorena Park (married at the time) who could be this lady, but without more info we can't be for sure. This Lorena Parks was born about 1810 (+/-...can't say that she may not have fudged on her year of birth) in Rhode Island. Her maiden name was Stevens/Stephens, but she apparently married a Larraby in MA and a George Landerkin, the latter probably somewhere in the midwest. The latter husband was found single and their son in an orphanage so we assumed Lorena had died. However, the finding of this marriage to John W. Fingar in Franklin Co, Oh has given us reason to think that may not have been the case. Her brother's obit gives info about an unnamed sister who lived to old age and no other sisters are known, so it could be she did live and split up with Parks as well. Her middle initial was S. and I believe it may have been Susan because she had a daughter either from the first marriage to Larraby or out of wedlock. The daughter was named Susan. Then again...she may have used her maiden name for her middle initial, which was a common practice, esp when women didn't have middle names.
I found a Christian Fingar age 45 b Ger in 1860 Franklin Co, Ohio with wife Mary35Ger, and four kids, from 9 to age 4 (the youngest named John) in the 1860 census.Could Christian had been John Christian Finger?Does anyone know when his wife, Mary died?
Can anyone on this forum help me with this?
I would appreciate any small details that might be of help.
