Seeking additional information or corrections to this list of descendants of Timothy Finnerin of Burlington VT.It was prepared mostly from census records and other online sources.
TIMOTHY FINNERIN was born around 1823 in Ireland and immigrated to the United States by 1850.Whether he came here by himself as an adult or as a child with other family members is not known. In 1850 he was working as a hired hand on a farm at Shelburne, Chittenden County, Vermont.Close by was the farm of another Irish immigrant, Francis McDonough, who had a daughter Catherine.Katie, as she was called, was born in August of 1835 in Vermont. She and Timothy married around 1853.The 1860 Chittenden County census lists them at Williston and the 1870 at Burlington, the county seat.An 1882-1883 Burlington business directory shows Timothy as a laborer living at 61 North Avenue. He died by 1890, reportedly at Muskegon, Michigan. After his death Katie worked as a nurse at Burlington, where she appears in the census from 1900-1920.
