William Kemm Fischer, 82, formerly of Middletown and presently of Hightstown, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, at his home. He was a retired Navy pilot with a rank of commander, having served during the Korean Conflict. William was a teacher at Middletown Township High School and a professor of Physics at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, retiring in 1990. William was a member of the Hightstown Presbyterian Church at Meadow Lakes.
William is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret "Peggy" Fischer; a son, Fred Fischer and wife Anne Greenhalgh of Bala Cynwyd, Pa.; three daughters, Maggie Mitchell, Mantoloking, Ann Fischer, Medford Lakes, and Nancy Waters and husband Bill, Pennington; a brother, Robert Fischer and wife Patricia, Skillman; and four grandchildren, Stephen Mitchell, Jane, Thomas and Samuel Fischer.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2 p.m. Friday, July 15 until the memorial service begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in his memory to the Meadow Lakes Foundation, Scholarship Fund, 300 Etra Road, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
