Fishwicks in Cumberland (England)
Recently I have been researching the small cluster of Fishwick families in the coal mining area of West Cumberland, near to Workington. They seem to have appeared there around 1830-40.Later several migrated eastwards to the Northumberland/Durham coalfields.
I wonder whether anyone on the forum can suggest where they may have come from.So far I have been unable, for example to make connections with the branches in either Sedbergh or the central Lancashire coal mining area, where there was (and is) a considerable concentration of Fishwicks.(I've not given specific names in this note, as it's more of a general query).
