Hello Gail Many thanks for your reply, isn't this exciting? My email address is:-
I am wondering if 'Uncle Billy Fishwick' might be William Fishwick who emigrated to St Augustine, Florida. He was a son of Rowland and Mary Ann and your Agnes's brother. I have this William's will and both Rowland and Walter William are mentioned in it. I think Rowland Bryce stayed with his uncle in St Augustine when he first went to America. William and his wife Grace were childless.
I don't think that my William ever went to America, he would never have been able to afford it. He was a coal miner and so poorly paid.
My maternal grandmother, Emma Fishwick, emigrated to America with her sister but was homesick and couldn't settle so she came back home. Her sister stayed and married and had one son, now deceased. He had one son who is now living in New York.
There are quite a lot of Fishwick descendants all around America. Mostly from different branches but all related.
We had a second cousin, once removed, here to stay with us last week. I first met him four years ago due to researching the family history. He has been here twice and we have visted him twice. He now lives in New Hampshire. His grandmother, my grandmother's aunt, emigrated to America in 1903.
I'll not go on any more here but will wait to hear from you and correspond via our own emails.
